Does a Liar Tell the Truth?

George DeVolder, a hustler who also uses the alternative name of “George Santos”, used a combination of lies to gain entry into the U.S. House of Representatives as a member of Congress in 2023.

Barely 4 months later, he was indicted for multiple counts of defrauding the public and using money raised by that fraud for his personal benefit. The charges include wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds, and false statements to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Despite his long, sordid, and proven history of lying, this hustler was a gaggle of reporters, armed with live microphones and cameras, anxious to ask him questions and broadcast his answers to their audiences.

Why?

He’s a liar – a known liar, a fraud, a grifter, a thief. Even before he ran for office in 2022, this hustler had pled guilty to check fraud in Brazil, then fled the country. What is the point of asking him a question?

If he’s talking, he’s lying.

Not one reporter asked if he was lying to them. Instead, they treated every question and every answer as if this were a serious conversation between serious people. But he’s a liar.

He’s a liar.

Stop talking to him. There’s nothing to learn.
